ORLANDO ยท NCAA & BRIGHT FUTURES 2026
InLighten’s SAT tutoring program for Orlando student athletes is built around practice schedules, Bright Futures deadlines, and NCAA admissions standards โ not generic test prep. Flexible sessions. Real results.
WHY IT MATTERS
For Florida students, the gap between a 1190 and a 1330 SAT is the gap between 75% and 100% of tuition covered. At UCF or UF, that gap can exceed $15,000 over four years. We help student athletes hit their exact target โ not just "improve."
While the NCAA no longer requires SAT scores for initial Division I or II eligibility, college coaches still ask to see scores โ and many universities require them for general admissions and athletic scholarships. A strong SAT score signals academic readiness to coaches and admissions officers at the same time.
THE REAL CHALLENGE
Student athletes don’t have the luxury of 3-hour study sessions on a Tuesday afternoon. Between practice, film sessions, away games, and a full course load, SAT prep usually falls to the bottom of the list โ until suddenly it’s urgent.
At InLighten, we’ve designed our athlete SAT program aroundย your schedule, not the other way around. Morning sessions before practice. Weekend intensives in the off-season. Focused 60-minute sessions that move the needle without burning out a student who’s already running on empty.
We know what’s at stake. And we know how little time there is. That’s exactly why we built this program.
THE "MAGIC NUMBER"
Balancing a 20-hour practice week with high-stakes testing is a challenge most tutoring centers don’t understand. Our student athlete SAT tutoring is built specifically for the Orlando community, ensuring local players don’t have to choose between their sport and their future. We focus on the “Magic Number” โ the specific score you need to pair with your GPA to meetย NCAA Eligibility Centerย standards.
Whether you’re aiming for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship to keep your talents in-state or looking to boost your academic profile for national scouts, our tutoring provides the competitive edge. We don’t just teach the test; we teach time management and performance under pressure โ skills every athlete already possesses but needs to translate to the Scantron.
By choosing our specialized tutoring in Orlando, you gain a partner who understands the recruiting calendar, from early signing periods to summer camp grinds.
THE PROGRAM
Sessions scheduled around practice, games, and away meets โ not the other way around.
We know your Bright Futures or admissions target. Every session works backward from that number.
Need to move your score fast before a recruiting visit? Our 2-week intensive is designed for exactly that.
You'll always know exactly where your student stands โ no guessing, no surprises.
All prep is built around the adaptive Digital SAT, including full-length practice tests under real conditions.
If you're not satisfied with results, we continue working for free. No exceptions.
THE TARGETS
Florida Bright Futures โ the numbers that matter:
| AWARD | SAT SCORE NEEDED | TUITION COVERAGE |
|---|---|---|
| Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) | 1330+ | 100% of tuition |
| Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) | 1190+ | 75% of tuition |
A student sitting exactly on the 1330 or 1190 line has zero margin for error. We push athletes to target 30โ50 points above the requirement. By training for a 1370, your athlete can have an off day and still walk away with Florida Academic Scholars secured.
Confidence comes from knowing you can miss a few questions and still win.
The adaptive SAT means scores can fluctuate; a buffer protects against that variance.
Hitting the cushion score early junior year frees your athlete to focus on the season and recruiting visits.
As of 2025, Division I and II programs have no minimum SAT/ACT score requirement for initial eligibility โ but that doesn't mean scores don't matter.
College admissions: Most universities still require SAT or ACT scores for the general admissions application, regardless of athletic status.
Athletic scholarships: Some athletic scholarships specifically require test scores โ even a fully recruited athlete may need a qualifying score to receive their offer.
Coaching standards: Coaches may ask to see scores to gauge whether a recruit meets their program's academic standards โ a low score can create doubt even when talent isn't in question.
OUR TUTOR
My son went from a D to a B+ in Algebra II in 5 weeks. The tutor identified exactly why he was losing points โ it wasn't the algebra, it was showing his work the way the teacher required. Fixed in session 2.
We tried Kumon for 6 months โ no improvement. InLighten's free diagnostic showed us in 40 minutes what Kumon never found. My daughter passed AP Calculus AB with a 4.
My student-athlete needed SAT Math help around a brutal practice schedule. InLighten built sessions at 6:30am and he raised his SAT Math score 90 points in 10 sessions โ enough for his DI eligibility threshold.
As of 2025, the NCAA no longer requires minimum SAT or ACT scores for Division I or II initial eligibility. However, most colleges still require SAT scores for general admissions, and some athletic scholarships specifically require qualifying test scores. We recommend all student athletes prepare for the SAT regardless.
For the Class of 2026 and beyond, the Florida Academic Scholars award (100% tuition) requires a minimum 1330 SAT. The Florida Medallion Scholars award (75% tuition) requires a minimum 1190 SAT. We target 30โ50 points above these cutoffs to build a safety cushion.
We build each athlete's tutoring schedule around their sport calendar โ including early morning sessions, weekend intensives, and off-season immersion options. Contact us and we'll find what works.
Most of our student athletes see measurable improvement within 6โ10 focused sessions. Students with 12+ weeks before their target test date typically see the most significant gains. Our 2-week Sprint program is designed for athletes with less time.
Yes โ in addition to SAT prep, InLighten offers subject-specific tutoring to help student athletes maintain the GPA required for Bright Futures and NCAA academic standards.

We’ll map your Bright Futures or NCAA target and build a prep schedule around your season. No pressure, no obligation.
